We take an individual approach to each job. Every floor is different and has its own sort of personality and characteristics. Concrete varies according to the hardness, which means that some floors take longer to prep than others. Over time, concrete slabs may develop slight cracks due to settling. In order for epoxy flooring to adhere correctly the cracks must be addressed and treated appropriately. If not, the epoxy and/or polyaspartic coatings won’t last! To ensure a long-lasting product we always prep the existing concrete floor properly.
Proper preparation of the floor is key when having any type of concrete coating installed. Sweeping, mopping, or power washing will simply not result in a clean enough surface for the coating to adhere to. This will result in the epoxy or polyaspartic peeling, bubbling, or flaking off over time. Grizzly Concrete Coatings utilizes specialty equipment such as concrete grinders and vacuums to etch the surface and then remove the traces of dust that are left behind. Prepping can sometimes take longer than the actual installation of the product, but if we are going to stand behind our work we insist on taking the time to do it correctly!
